Participation in HRD NeXT 2026 and the Appeal of the Event

“A space for Practitioners Condensed with Practical Learning”

On January 30, 2026, I attended HRD NeXT2026, organized by HRD Inc.

This event, where professionals involved in HR, talent development, and organizational development gather, provides a valuable opportunity to gain insights that are truly useful in the field, with the latest cases on talent assessment and leadership development being shared. I gained a lot of learning and inspiration this time as well.

HRD NeXT is an event hosted by HRD Inc. for practitioners in HR, talent development, and organizational development.

A major feature of this event is that it shares case studies from companies that are actually implementing and utilizing talent assessment and development initiatives, rather than simply introducing theories or explaining trends.

You can gain concrete insights into tools like DiSC® and 360-degree feedback from perspectives such as:

  • Why they were introduced
  • How they are designed and operated
  • What changes have occurred in the organization and among leaders

This makes it a highly practical learning opportunity for HR personnel.

20 Years with DiSC® and Support Achievements After Going Independent

The reproducibility of DiSC® experienced through conversations with over 1,000 people

I obtained the certified qualification for the DiSC® assessment provided by HRD Corporation in 2007. Since then, I have had a relationship with the company for nearly 20 years. I am also introduced as one of their partner companies on HRD Inc’s official website.

After leaving my previous job in 2018 and becoming independent and starting my own business, I feel that I have been able to continue my work to this day precisely because of my experience conducting training and workshops using DiSC® with well over 1,000 people.

DiSC® is not what is commonly called a personality test.

  • Visualization of behavioral traits and decision-making styles
  • Understanding communication based on differences with others
  • Improving relationships within teams and organizations

It is a practical talent assessment tool that makes this possible. Having been involved with it for many years, I continue to experience its reliability and applicability in the field.

After the Event: Moving Forward with Future Talent Development

Touched by the latest case, I was once again convinced of the ‘value of support’

At this year’s HRD Next 2026, we were able to hear concrete case studies from speakers representing major companies, including those that:

  • Utilize DiSC® in organizational development,
  • Incorporate 360-degree feedback into leadership development,
  • Design talent assessments as medium- to long-term development initiatives.

It was extremely helpful for me to learn how the support I have provided to various companies has been applied by other major companies, and what kind of results and challenges it has led to.

At the same time, it was an opportunity to reaffirm that our past efforts were not in vain and to gain renewed confidence in continuing to provide value in the areas of talent development and leadership training.
